Biblioteca CESIMA Digital
Desde de 1995, o CESIMA conta com um Setor de Documentação Multimídia, estabelecido e ampliado com apoio da FAPESP, CNPq e PUC-SP. Tal Setor já dispõe de equipamento de última geração para digitalização de originais em História da Ciência, além de uma grande coleção de microfichas e microfilmes. Trata-se de materiais raros ou antigos e, muitas vezes, de exemplar único, publicados desde os primórdios da imprensa européia ou encontrados como manuscritos. A digitalização de obras desse e de outros acervos, disponibiliza aos pesquisadores e estudantes de História da Ciência, fontes originais que, de outra forma, em sua grande maioria, seriam acessíveis apenas em bibliotecas no exterior. Pensando nessa Biblioteca Virtual de forma mais ampla, não poderia faltar uma via que trouxesse esses documentos através da Internet para os membros associados ao centro. Aliás, a Internet tem-se tornado um auxiliar precioso na realização de pesquisas, ao disponibilizar on-line, catálogos de bibliotecas, arquivos e centros de documentação, ou ainda sites de interesse para a História da Ciência, o que facilita a localização de documentos para posterior solicitação, digitalização e incorporação ao acervo.
