Abstract
Preface the chlorides of lim&and soda haying* been beneficially and extensively introduced into medical practice, it became a matter of great importance to obtain them of uniform strength and in i perfect combination, upon both of which their i valuable properties mainly depend. by unremitted attention for many months to experiments i on the most extensive scale, these desiderata have j i been obtained ; and in my preparations, although equally efficacious with those of the french for- ■< mula, the evolution of chlorine is so gradual as to be almost imperceptible to the most delicate patient ; and by excluding the air, they will keep for any length of time.
